How to Detect the Partial Discharge of Live GIS

There are two ways to detect the partial discharge base on the partial discharge characteristics of live GIS.

2. Detecting the ultrasonic wave:

GIS partial discharge produces sound waves, including longitudinal waves, transverse waves and surface waves. Longitudinal waves pass through the gas to the shell and the transverse waves need to pass through the solid medium (insulators) to the outer shell. The piezoelectric sensor attached to the outer shell receives these acoustic signals in order to detect partial discharge in GIS. Therefore, the partial discharge of GIS can be detected by ultrasonic wave.

Our GTPD-92C partical discharge detector (partial discharge tester),adopts the two ways, so it can detect the detect the GID partial discharge efficiently. It is loved and welcomed by users. If you are interested in it, please contact.
